How do I install and activate an eSIM?

Follow the instructions below to install and activate your plan. The steps are similar on both iOS and Android.

How to install your eSIM

Install over Wi-Fi before you travel. Menu names vary slightly by device and OS version.

1Open Settings → CellularTap Cellular (or Mobile Service / Mobile Data).
2Add eSIM → Use QR CodeTap “Add eSIM”, then choose “Use QR Code”.
3Scan or enter the codeScan your QR, or tap “Enter Details Manually” and paste the activation code.
4Confirm the planTap “Add Cellular Plan” and wait for it to install.
5Label & selectName it “Travel” and choose it for Cellular Data on arrival.

Tip: on iOS 17.4+ you can also tap the “Install eSIM” button on your eSIM page to install in one tap.

1Open Settings → NetworkGo to “Network & internet” (Pixel) or “Connections” (Samsung).
2SIMs → Add eSIMTap “SIMs” / “SIM manager”, then “Add eSIM” / “Download a SIM instead”.
3Scan or enter the codeChoose “Scan QR code”, or tap “Enter manually” to paste the code.
4Download the profileTap “Download” / “Add” and wait for the eSIM to install.
5Enable & selectTurn the eSIM on and set it for mobile data at your destination.

Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM.

Pixel / stock Android:Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Download a SIM instead.

Don't forget to turn on Data Roamingfor the simfiy line — it's required for the eSIM to connect abroad.

Open your eSIM details from the My SIMs tab and have the QR code ready on another screen or printed out.
On your phone, go to Settings, then Mobile/Cellular Data, and choose Add eSIM or Add Data Plan.
Select Use QR Code and scan the QR code shown in your simfiy account.
Follow the on-screen prompts to add the plan and label it (for example, “simfiy Travel”).

If you can’t scan the QR code, you can enter the details manually:

Go to Settings, then Mobile/Cellular Data, and choose Add eSIM, then Enter Details Manually.
Copy the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code from your simfiy account and paste them in.
Confirm to download the eSIM profile to your device.

After installing, open Settings and select the newly added simfiy line.
Set the simfiy line as your data source for Mobile/Cellular Data.
Turn on Data Roaming for the simfiy line — this is required for the eSIM to connect abroad.
Once you arrive at your destination, the eSIM connects automatically and you’re online.

Have you added the eSIM to your phone?
Have you selected the added eSIM as your data source?
Have you enabled data roaming for the added eSIM?
When should I install it? You can install before you travel, but only enable it on arrival.
